Market Analysis & ForecastingMonitor and project pricing for WECC and CAISO power and gas marketsAnalyze supply/demand fundamentals, transmission constraints, and weather impacts.Trading SupportProvide actionable insights to traders for day-ahead and real-time positions.Assist in developing hedging strategies and optimizing asset dispatch.Risk Management & ComplianceEnsure adherence to Capital Power’s risk policies and regulatory requirements.Track exposure and report P&L impacts to management.Data & ReportingMaintain accurate market data and develop dashboards for performance tracking.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly market summaries for internal stakeholders.CollaborationWork closely with traders, schedulers, and risk teams to align strategies.Support cross-functional initiatives related to portfolio optimization.What you must have:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field2+ years of experience in energy trading, analytics, or power/gas markets.Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python preferred).Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Experience with ETRM systems and ISO scheduling platforms.Knowledge of renewable integration and congestion management strategies.Salary/Rate Range: $140,000 – $170,000Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
