Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Calgary, AB or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel.

• Must possess an Electrical engineering or Power Engineering or Electrical Energy Systems Engineering background.
• Knowledge of ICCP, RTU and Electric SCADA Systems.
• Understanding of electrical network models (Transmission & Distribution), modelling and simulation.
• Knowledge of Power systems analysis and control, grid monitoring and analytics.
• Knowledge of grid integration of renewable energy sources and electric vehicles.

ADMS Qualification (Additional required):

• Knowledge of any ADMS or EMS platform
• Understanding of Regulated support Model – NERC-CIP
• Knowledge of programming languages for system integration or scripting, such as C, C++, PowerShell, Python, VB, PERL, Linux, or similar

GIS Qualification (Additional required):

• Knowledge of any GIS Based software package – Any of ESRI or GE Smallworld or
• Knowledge of programming languages for system integration or scripting – ASP.NET, C#.NET, Python.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face.
