Are you ready to drive success?For more information, visit or follow us @SyscoCanada at ; orFor a full list of opportunities, visitRole:This is a Finance position responsible for ensuring the accuracy of Inventory through reporting, analyzing, researching, and correcting any material variances that could pose financial risk to the organization.Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for in-depth analysis of all material inventory variances which could present a significant financial risk to the Company including, but not limited to, catchweight variances, variances between SWMS & IDS, deposit items such as CO2 tanks, and high value overages or shortages of on-hand product.
  • Works with Accounts Payable (AP) in investigation and correction of Purchase Orders where a discrepancy or dispute exists between vendor invoice quantity and receiving quantity.
  • Researches and corrects possible shipping errors and corrects all issues as reported by other functions.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Balance on Hand (BOH) report and investigating and correcting variances.
  • Responsible for investigation and correction of OS&Ds from Intercompany orders.
  • Research and prepare daily reports for Operations Leadership on Warehouse outs and delivery shorts.
  • Ensure financial reporting deadlines regarding inventory counts are met and that procedures are conducted in accordance with FAMM.
  • Check Inventory Control & Quality Assurance DL emails throughout the day for inquiries from other functional areas such as Finance, Merchandizing, Operations and Sales.
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Assist Cycle Counter in ensuring counts are being adhered to on schedule
  • Assist and provide coverage for Inventory Control Manager as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance or Supply Chain would be an asset
  • 3-5 years of experience in a distribution/inventory control role
  • Forklift and Order picker experience would be an asset
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience with IDS & SWMS or related WMS/ERP systems
