- Planning, organizing, and controlling the integration of all work areas and disciplines within the project.
- Implementing project management tools, methods, and best practices to align with stakeholder expectations and business needs.
- Ensuring all designs and work plans incorporate safety, health, and environmental considerations.
- Reviewing and providing input on changes in scope, schedule, costs, and impact to stakeholders against the project baseline.
- Identifying project risks and barriers, and developing mitigation strategies.
- Reporting and interfacing with management and clients on project status updates and expectations.
- Balancing and determining project priorities.
- Executing the contract and procurement strategy, including negotiating terms and conditions.
- Contributing to a team of CNL staff, consultants, and contractors in the remediation of LLRW on the site(s).
- Promoting a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Delivering quality results on time and on budget.
- Ensuring team members use applicable safety equipment and adhere to safe work practices, radiation protection policies, and other CNL safety requirements.
- Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills while communicating with clients and stakeholders with integrity.
- Collaborating with the Communications & Stakeholder Relations team, providing and receiving input, and participating in public relations events as needed.
- Applying knowledge of federal and provincial regulatory requirements related to nuclear and remediation.
- Implementing substantial safety and licensing requirements with many internal and external regulatory interactions.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- A degree or diploma from a college/university relevant to project management, engineering, or equivalent, and a track record for leading large projects from definition, budgeting, design, through to construction. Click here to enter text.
- Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years progressively responsible project experience, preferably related to large construction and/or remediation projects OR Post-secondary diploma with 4+ years progressively responsible project experience, preferably related to large construction and/or remediation projects OR 7+ years with no formal post-secondary progressively responsible project experience, preferably related to large construction and/or remediation projects.
- Experience with Supervising the work of contractors, consultant engineers, and vendors in field work and construction oversight.
- Experience with project management software, tools and practices used to plan, execute and control projects an asset.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, contract management, and progress reporting for an executive audience.
- Applies all of the 9 project management knowledge areas (i.e., Scope; Cost; Time; QA; Communications; Human Resources; Risk; Procurement; Integration).
- Excellent team-building and consensus-reaching skills.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions:
- Works in an office environment where regular concentration at a computer screen is required (~75%).
- Frequent site visits will be required depending on the stage of the project, requiring the use of all applicable safety equipment and absolute adherence to safe work and radiation protection policies/practices (~25%).
