With a deep understanding of government planning and accountability frameworks, you provide expert guidance that helps explain and report on corporate performance results. You are skilled at navigating relationships across all levels of an organization, and you bring clarity and structure to complex reporting documents. You are adaptable, analytical, and resourceful-you can propose solutions to problems as they arise.What you’ll do:Reporting to the Accountability Reporting Team Leader, the Senior Corporate Planning Advisor will be responsible for supporting the Team Leader in developing and implementing corporate processes for all accountability reporting including:

  • the development of reports required by Central Agencies and Parliament such as the Departmental Results Report, the Annual Report and the Departmental plan;
  • the development and coordination of the responses provided by internal groups who must respond to the Treasury Board’s Risk and Compliance Process;
  • the coordination, preparation and presentation to senior and executive management of the quarterly corporate performance reporting;
  • the coordination and preparation of the Service Inventory Report submission to Treasury Board
  • leading the Service Review process as mandated by the Policy on Service and Digital
  • working with Directorates to gather information for responses to other central agency requests;
  • provision of guidance and support to the CNSC planning community

Essential Qualifications:Education:Degree from a recognized university with specialization in business administration, public administration, social sciences or public affairs, or a relevant combination of education, experience and job knowledge.Language Requirements:Bilingual imperative with proficiency at CBC level.   • Preparing corporate reports for Central Agencies and Parliament, such as , Departmental Results Reports, Annual Reports and Departmental Plans.
  • Presenting to management*
  • Providing recommendation and guidance to management* on matters relating to the identification, preparation and development of corporate reports for Central Agencies and Parliament
  • Collaborating with internal interested parties and providing strategic advice on performance reporting.
  • Managing or coordinating cross-functional projects or working groups with an accountability reporting focus.
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards and performance reports to support decision-making.

*Management is defined as Director (EX-01) and aboveKnowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of strategic, business, and/or operational monitoring and reporting.
  • Government of Canada planning and reporting requirements, particularly those of the Treasury Board Secretariat and Privy Council Office.
  • CNSC’s mandate and vision, and its alignment with broader governmental objectives.
  • Communication standards and techniques used to convey performance results, and corporate reporting processes.
  • Parliamentary reporting and accountability procedures and requirements of Central Agencies, including Treasury Board Secretariat and the Office of the Auditor General of Canada.

Ability to:

  • Analyse, synthesize, and integrate diverse sources of information into clear, actionable strategic advice and reports.
  • Lead collaborative working groups and manage complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple concurrent deliverables.

  • Training or certification in project management or performance measurement methodologies
  • Experience working in or with regulatory organizations or agencies
  • Experience contributing to government-wide assessments and monitoring processes such as the Management Accountability Framework (MAF) now being replaced with the Risk and Compliance Process (RCP).
  • Experience with Power BI to generate dashboards and reports
  • Knowledge of trends and issues in the nuclear energy sector or government regulatory environment
